What to learn?
Rapid developments in technology and society have changed how generations connect and work leading to misunderstandings similar to those between people from different cultures. According to recent surveys, 90 percent of people say conflict between generations results in wasted time and lost productivity while only 20 percent say their organization has a strategy or program for intergenerational relationships.
This new course was drafted in 2023 based on recent scientific research which encourages us to leave behind stereotypes such as Gen XYZ want... and behave like... Instead, the course focusses on awareness, different perspectives, trust building, mutual mentoring, and skills for speaking up to anyone independed of age and rank. For this course a brandnew tool was developed - the Generation Map - which helps people from different age groups describe and talk about their preferences in a non-judgemental way and increase understanding, trust, and collaboration, building on the specific strengths of the team members.
